The Daycare Bucket List

Ayven turned 12 months and was so ready for daycare…but the question was, were my husband and I ready for him to go to daycare? Going from a full time nanny to a school full of other kids, germs, new faces, new food…you name it. We were nervous but knew it was the best thing for him and can happily say it was the best decision we made.  Mommas..I promise you, it’s a really good thing for them.  They get exposed to so many different types of people, build social skills, vocabulary, have activities to do all day and best of all you will be amazed of how much better they nap with all their friends.

Looking for a new daycare is tough, taking into consideration all the emotions you have going through your head it’s so easy to forget simple questions that you wished you asked before you took the plunge. I have been keeping a bucket list of the questions my husband and I have asked while Ayven’s been in daycare and thought it may be helpful to parents to pass our list around.  Check out the list below and print it up so you are prepared to ask your daycare questions. She told me to put posters up in the house at Ayven’s eye level so that it is something he will see everyday. I’m not talking about posters of their favorite cartoon or celebrity, but educational posters that teachers use in their classrooms. Depending on your child’s age you can put simple colors and numbers or if he/she is older you can do math posters, reading posters, pattern matching posters, or anything else your child is wanting to learn at that time.
